Things to Do this Weekend in Westchester and Rockland County

There are plenty of places to enjoy music outdoors in the summer. Here are a few taking place this weekend in Westchester and Rockland County. Some are free, while some requires buying a ticket:

On Saturday, July 18th, visit Nyack for its Walk to the Beat Summer Festival. You will find world class music and dance performances on four stages throughout the Village of Nyack.

The Untermyer Gardens Conservancy in Yonkers runs a Worldfest Summer Concert Series from late June until the end of August. The free concerts take place on the lawn outside the Walled Garden at 7:30pm on summer Saturdays. This Saturday, July 18 at 7:30pm, you can enjoy a free concert by the Yonkers Philharmonic.

On Saturday, it is the 22nd Annual Jazz Festival at the Caramoor in Katonah. The all day and night event includes performances by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and have performances for children and adults. 

Other summer concert series include the Music in the Garden series at the Edward Hopper House, Sunset Jazz at the Lyndhurst Estate, the Ossining summer outdoor concert series, the Suffern summer outdoor concert series, and more.

On Friday, July 17th at 7:30pm, visit the Trailside Nature Museum at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation for their Annual Firefly Festival. Enjoy an ice cream social as you join other families in a program detailing fireflies, including observing, cathing, and releasing fireflies. 

If you are looking for cultural festivals, the German Festival is taking place this Saturday and Sunday at the German American Social Club of Peekskill. On Sunday, July 19, 2015 12:00PM - 7:00PM, enjoy live entertainment and music, arts and crafts, food and more at the Hispanic Heritage Festival at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla.

Things to Do This Weekend in Putnam, Dutchess, Orange and Ulster County

From July 16 - July 19, 2015, enjoy great Italian food and festivities at the Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Festival at Verplanck, NY. It will be the 93rd year the festival is running, and is the longest running Feast in the Hudson Valley.

On July 18 and 19, it is the annual Rosendale Street Festival. More than 70 bands are scheduled to perform throughout the weekend. The 17th annual Port Jervis Arts Walk is scheduled for Saturday, July 18 from 11am-5pm.

In Dutchess County, the town of Beekman is holding their community day on Saturday, July 18th. 19th Annual Poughkeepsie Latin American Festival is Sunday, July 19th. The event will celebrate the rich Latino culture in the Hudson Valley with live entertainment, food and craft vendors and children activities. 

If you want to visit one of our farms and wineries in the Hudson Valley this weekend, it is the Sangria Festival at Benmarl Winery, July 18-19 from 12-7pm. Tantillo Farm in Gardiner is hosting LobsterFest on July 18th. Enjoy fresh Maine lobsters and other farm fresh food.

The Hudson Valley Cider Festival is held at the Barton Orchards in Poughquag on July 18th. Experience various hard ciders, enjoy delicious food offerings prepared by top notch culinary chefs, and enjoy live music & entertainment!

Also, the Warwick Summer Arts Festival starts on Sunday, July 19. It will run from the 19th to the 26th.
