Visit a Hudson Valley Museum

Dia:Beacon, the massive modern art museum at nearly 300,000 square in size in Beacon, is having its Community Free Day this Saturday. Even if modern art may not be your thing, this weekend is a good chance to visit and take a look. Can't make it this weekend? The next Community Free day is on July 11.

The Pelham Art Center will host its annual cherry blossom festival this Saturday. They will be hosting hands-on workshops and activities in the traditional arts of Japan. This event is free and open to the public.

The Hudson River Museum in Yonkers will be having its teen night this Saturday from 5-8pm. The admission is free, and they will be showing film selections from the Yonkers Film Festival.Nyack Street Fair Springfest

Go Outside

This Sunday is the first Hastings Flea, which is to be held every second Sunday at the commuter lot. You will find antique and vintage furniture, crafts, collectibles, jewelry, food, music and more.

On the other side of the river, Nyack will be having its Springfest Street Fair on Sunday. It is always a fun time at their street fairs, which over 300 vendors, live music, carnival games for kids, and more.

Or maybe you would like to spend your weekend at one of our local wineries? On April 11-12, 2015, the wineries on the Shawangunk Wine Trail will be taking part in Pasta Primo Vino. For those of you who don't know, the Shawangunk Wine Trail is located between the Shawangunk Mountains and the Hudson River in Ulster and Orange Counties, and includes 14 diverse wineries.

To celebrate spring, you can set out on a self-guided tour of the wineries. You will receive a souvenir glass, and at each winery you can enjoy a delicious pasta dish sample paired with a complimentary glass of wine.

Shows and Circus this Weekend at the Hudson Valley

Peter and the Starcatcher, a hilarious backstory of Peter Pan and Captain Hook, will be performing on April 12, 3pm at the Eisenhower hall Theatre at West Point.

West Side Story opens at the Westchester Broadway Theatre on April 9 and runs through July 5. On Monday, April 13, there will be a “Live From Nashville” show, with the sounds of Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Garth Brook, The Charlie Daniels Band and more.

The kids will have a blast at the benefit performance by the Amazing Grace Circus at Garnerville on Saturday at 2pm. The Amazing Grace Circus is a youth circus training program for children and teens in the Rockland and Bergen County area. See below for a youtube video about the circus.

Annual taste of Rhinebeck

On Tuesday April 14, the annual Taste of Rhinebeck will take place for its 11th year to benefit Northern Dutchess Hospital. Walk through Market Street and visit the more than 20 participating venues including restaurants, spirit shops, and specialty food retailers. They will be creating small plates of delicious fare or a palate-pleasing beverage to win the votes of participants in the categories of best: appetizer, main course, dessert and beverage.
