Irvington is one of the charming river towns in Westchester County, located just South of Tarrytown. It has spectacular river views, a historic downtown, and woods and nature for those who like to enjoy the outdoors.
The small downtown area in Irvington has quite a few popular shops. There are no large grocery stores or big box stores in Irvington, which is how the Irvington residents like to help Irvington retain its small town character.
The village has four parks. Two are located along the Hudson River: the Scenic Hudson Park and the Metthiessen Park, both of which offers views of the Manhattan skyline. Memorial Park has a spray pool, playground, sports fields. Halsey Pond Park is quiet and undeveloped, offering permit holders a peaceful setting for fishing.
On Metro-North, the ride to Grand Central from Irvington Station is approximately 45 minutes, and can be as little as 39 minutes. By car, it is around 22 miles to the city on the Saw Mill River Parkway, and takes around 40 minutes.
