Beekman is a sprawling suburb and one of Dutchess county’s fastest growing towns. It includes the hamlets of: Holmes, Hopewell Junction, Lagrangeville, Poughquag, and Stormville. Its easy access to the Taconic State Parkway and Interstate 84 is attractive to commuters who may enjoy the quiet countryside and relative convenience. There are many recent real estate developments, offering many new condos and new homes for sale.
Most of the in town shopping are available in Poughquag NY. For fun, there is the Barton Orchards in Poughquah, which is a pick-your-own orchard that also offers hayrides, corn mazes, and festivals over the year. The Stormville Airport antique show and flea market is a large flea market with over 600 vendors that runs 6 times a year.
The town of Beekman recreation department offers many popular programs, including: summer camps, swim lessons, fitness classes, family fun nights, kids and teen party nights, parenting classes, and an annual Community Day. There is an extensive seniors program including the “Friends of Seniors” , which provides door to door transportation for its senior residents to run non-emergency related errands.
The town of Beekman is located in the southeasten part of Dutchess County, about 60 minutes north of New York City. The major highway is the Taconic State Parkway, which you can take to New York City, or connect to interstate 84. Route 55 crosses the town and connects it to Poughkeepsie, 20 minutes Northwest, and Pawling, 15 minutes Southeast.

One large home community is the Dalton Farm community in Poughquag, which consists of 468 homes on 560 acres. There are single family homes, carriage homes and townhouses in the community. The homes there were built after 1990, with many built after 2000. Chelsea Cove is a popular townhouse development built around 1985-1990, consisting of 2-3 bedroom townhouses.
Beekman Chase is a development of large single family homes built in the 2010s. Birch Hill Manor is a development built in the 1990s, and the homes at Victoria Estates in Poughquag were built around 2005-2015. Taconic Hills is a 18 home new construction development being built as of 2020.
Approximately 90.4% of the homes in Beekman are owner-occupied, and 9.6% are being rented.
