With summer coming, it’s time to get out the sunscreen and get your Kindles ready for beach season! It might (or might not….) surprise you to know that we have many authors right here in Westchester county. We’ve got both fiction and non-fiction here for you to enjoy. Here are some terrific Westchester authors worth checking out:

Patty Chang Anker is known for her mid-life memoir, Some Nerve: Lessons Learned While Becoming Brave. Oprah.com called it "downright inspiring." Not an adventurous person by any means, she learned to push herself out of life's comfort zone and wrote a book about her experiences.

Westchester author Marty AppelMarty Appel is a former Yankee public relations director and television producer. He has written 16 books about baseball. His most recent book is Pinstripe Empire: the New York Yankees from Before the Babe to After the Boss.  He also has a children's book out this year, Pinstripe Pride. Appel is a former Larchmont resident.

Jenny Rosenstrach is a resident of Westchester County, NY and has written 2 terrific cookbooks. Dinner: The Playbook  and Dinner: A Love Story. She is a New York Times Bestselling Author and isdedicated to helping families create a wonderful, delicious family dinner that everyone enjoys - no chicken nuggets!

Judy Blundell writes for middle grade, young adult and adult readers under several names. She is best-known of her New York Times bestselling series for children, The 39 Clues. She won the 2008 National Book Award for her YA novel, What I Saw and How I Lied. She lives in Katonah, NY.

Patrick Quinlan is the author of several books and used to live in Yonkers, NY. A fun fact is that Quinlan co-wrote the film Blade Runner. He also wrote a book about Blade Runner, heroes and villains, which became a bestseller. The title of the book? All Those Moments: Stories of Heroes, Villains, Replicants, and Blade Runners.

He also wrote Smoked (2006), The Takedown (2007), The Drop Off (2008) and The Hit (2009).
