The Storm King Art Center is one of the world's leading sculpture parks, located right here in the Hudson Valley, in the town of New Windsor in Orange County New York. You can easily go to the Storm King Art Center from New York City without a car, by either renting a zipcar or taking a New Jersey transit train or coach bus.

The Storm King Art Center consists of more than 100 sculptures located on 500-acres of fields, hills, and woodlands. Visiting in the spring, summer, and fall will give you a different feel, as the scenery is as much part of the experience as the art. You can spend a day enjoying the sculptures by walking, biking, or taking a tram. Pack a lunch and have a picnic on the beautiful grounds.

The entrance fee to the Storm King Art Center is $15 for adults, $12 for senior citizens, and $8 for students and children ages 5-18. Don't want to splurge? There are several free admissions days at Storm King, and the next one is June 25th!

The free admissions dates to Storm King Art Center are:

  • Thursday, June 25, 2015
  • Thursday, July 30, 2015
  • Thursday, August 27, 2015

Can't make it there on a Thursday? You may want to go this Saturday and join their Summer Solstice Celebration. It features a cocktail reception, a gourmet farm-to-table dinner, and private tours of the grounds and current exhibitions. After dinner, enjoy dessert and dancing with musical performance by Pete Francis of Dispatch featuring the Dragon Crest Collective.

Below is a nice youtube video I found of the Storm King Art Center:
