Westchester, Hudson Valley New York Weekend Guide Things to Do

(In case this is not the weekend update you are looking for, click here to see our most recent Hudson Valley weekend update post.)

We are finally seeing above freezing temperatures here in the Hudson Valley, and half our snow have melted! Here are a few things going on this weekend to celebrate our "7-days until spring".

Skiing in March

It is warm and there is still snow left! Want to go skiing? It turns out you can ski at West Point, at their Victor Constant Ski Area. And on Sunday, March 15th, it looks like they're having a fun St. Patrick's Day celebration.

West Point Ski

If you're going further North to ski, it is Senior Skip Week at Belleayre Mountains at the Catskills. Seniors 65 and older can ski for only $10 when an any age day admission ticket is purchased at the same time. Plus, all the ticket-wearing seniors can get $1 cups of coffee and $2 breakfast sandwiches at the cafeteria.

Art, Food, and Shop at Beacon

It is Second Saturday at Beacon. Many of the galleries and shops along Main Street will stay open until 9pm, with special events and tastings. If you hang out at this artsy town on Saturday, why not catch a show at the Town Crier Cafe after browsing through all the shops?

St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

Of course, who can forget St. Patrick's Day. This weekend you will find St. Patrick's parades going on all over the Hudson Valley, including: White Plains, Mt. Kisco, Peekskill, Sleepy Hollow, Eastchester, Goshen, and Kingston. We have them all listed on our Hudson Valley St. Patrick's Day parade guide.

In reality, we know most of the St. Patrick's Day celebrations are not really for the under-21 crowd. We cannot name every Irish pub in the Valley, but there is an outdoor celebration, Paddy on the Riverat the Beacon waterfront tomorrow from 1-5pm. The event will feature live Music, traditional Irish foods and fare, Irish themed items, plus a wide variety of beer.

More Sugar Maple, Yum

Another fun event in March is all the sugar maple celebrations all throughout New York. There are events every weekend until April. Find them at the following locations this weekend:

Sugaring Sundays at the Teatown Lake Reservation

Muscoot Farm at Katonah

Sugar Fest at the Westmoreland Santuary at Mount Kisco

Maple Sugar Tours at the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum in Cornwall, New York

Maple Fest at the Randolph School at Wappingers Falls

Green Chimney Campus in Carmel, New York
