With summer right around the corner, swimming isn’t too far behind. If you're looking for outdoor swimming, there's no better place than the Hudson Valley. Here’s a list of the places to splash around in Orange and Rockland Counties. Many of the pools and beaches are opening Memorial Day weekend!

About the Park:
In additon to swimming, the 693 acres park also offers many hiking trails and picnic tables. 3.5-mile section of the Long Path traverses through the park.

About the beach:
Lake Welch is a man-made lake with a half-mile-long sandy beach, located in the wooded hills of the Ramapo Mountains. It is the largest beach in Harriman State Park and can get crowded during weekends.

About Rockland Lake State Park:
The park offers two Olympic-sized swimming pools and two kiddie pools, picnic tables and grills. If you are looking for different water activities, you can go boating or fishing at the lake, which has a nice three-mile loop around the lake. The park also has six tennis courts and two golf courses.

About the Beach: It is a public beach at Greenwood Lake's. There are both day rates and season passes. There are picnic areas, volley ball nets, swimming areas with lifeguards, children's play area, and rest rooms.
