Festivals in the Hudson Valley

There's some good food to be had this weekend. TAP New York, "New York's Largest Craft Beer Festival" and the "Largest Single-State Craft Beer Festival in the Nation" is taking place this weekend, April 25 and 26, at Hunter Mountain. Over 98 breweries will be at the festival, serving great craft beers and food.

For a food festival located more South, there is the lohudfood festival at the Harvest on Hudson from noon-4 p.m. April 26. It is a free, family-friendly event featuring more than 25 local farmers market vendors, live music, free giveaways and more.

For fun for the family including our dogs, the 9th annual Beacon Barks will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 10am-3pm, on Main Street in Beacon.  Beacon Barks! is the street festival for people who love animals, live music, great food, and having fun in the heart of Beacon. Enjoy the parade and then dine street side with your dog and family.

It is the YMCA Healthy Kids Day and the Rotary's  Rubber Ducky Derby Day in Tarrytown on Saturday, April 25 from 11am-3pm at Patriot's Park. The YMCA Healthy Kids Day Event will also be held at the Frost Valley YMCA and the Rockland YMCA in Nyack.

On Saturday evening, you can enjoy the lively art scene at Last Saturday Newburgh.

Earth Day Celebrations Around the Hudson Valley

Earth Day was April 22, any many of the celebrations are happening this weekend to raise awareness:

The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum will have its Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25 from 11am-3pm. Everyone will have fun in the "Green Zone" and "Going Local" where Museum staff will lead family activities.  Children who get their free Planet Protector Passport stamped at each booth will win a prize.  Children will also enjoy nature play, games, story telling and meeting live animals. Hudson Highlands Nature Museum Earth Day Celebration

The Bear Mountain Trailside Zoo will have its Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 25. You can meet at the bear den at 10:30 am to make treats for the Bears. They will come out of their dens to gobble them up at 11:00. Enjoy family-friendly fun, displays and activities with an Earth-friendly focus.

More Fun Events in the Lower Hudson

It is the third semi-annual Family Fun Open House Event on Sunday, April 26th from 10am-2pm at Tarrytown Music Hall. The event will be FREE and open to the public. No tickets required.

The line-up of entertainment for Family Fun Open House Event includes:
Music by the Bossy Frog Band; nutrition tips from Sheila Emery Murphy, a Holistic Health Coach and Tarrytown resident; workshops by Westchester Circus Arts; crafts and story telling provided by Warner Library; children’s sing-a-long hosted by local guitarist Ron Dexter; and Mad Science, transforming laboratory science into fun, interactive learning experiences for kids.
