It is almost the weekend again! There are a lot of interesting events happening, so don't miss out on all the things to do in the Hudson Valley this May weekend.
Hudson Valley Festivals
Arts Westchester has several Arts Bash events this weekend. There will be a fundraiser on Friday, May 15 featuring cocktails and a tasting menu from 25 leading chefs in Westchester County. Following the Friday fundraiser will be Family ArtsBash on Saturday, May 16 from 1-5pm. It is a free event featuring children’s arts workshops and activities, art exhibitions and open artist’s studios.
The Gardiner Cupcake Festival is a popular annual event, to be held at Wright's Farm in Gardiner, Ulster County on Saturday, May 16 from noon-6pm. It will feature a variety of cupcake vendors who will bring over 30,000 cupcakes, plus live music, local vendors, wine tasting, and children activities.
Wright’s Farm is a 453-acre farm with a 100 year history and is currently run by three generations of the Wright Family.
Another fun family event on Saturday is the Pine Bush UFO Fair and Parade, hosted by the Town of Crawford in Orange County. There will be live music all day, fun games and attractions, a huge assortment of food, a kids section, craft vendors, ufo novelties, live characters, street performances, the Star Wars 501 Legion Storm Troopers, and the popular parade.
For something adults only, you can visit the Captain Lawrence Brewery Tap and Pour Beer Festival on Saturday from 1-6pm at Elmsford, Westchester County. Live music, games, and local food vendors such as Restaurant North, The Cookery, Taiim Falafel, Birdsall House, Gleasons and Walters Hot Dogs will be selling food throughout the day.
On Sunday, Pinkster, an African-American celebration of spring, will be held at the Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow. The festival will include lively presentations of drumming and traditional dance, African folktales, and demonstrations of traditional African instruments and utilitarian wares.
Hudson Valley Fairs and Carnivals
On Saturday, New Rochelle Department of Parks and Recreation and the city’s School District are hosting the New Rochelle third annual Kite Day on May 16. The event will be held at Davenport Park from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The Hudson Valley Fair is entering their final weekend at the Dutchess Stadium.
