Westchester Dog Parks

Everyone knows that dogs need daily walks. But sometimes your dog just needs more than that. They need to play, socialize and just run around and, well, be dogs! So what better place could there be to do that than at the local dog park?

We are lucky to have quite a few terrific Westchester dog parks. We even found a dog beach for you to take your pups to! So get out there and enjoy this great new-to-us spring weather and let your dog be who they are – with other dogs!

Larchmont Dog Beach

Beach Avenue & Park Avenue, Larchmont, NY 10538

According to dog owners on Yelp.com, the best time to go is at low tide. You should also be prepared with your own poop baggies and any other supplies that you might need. There is no bathroom for people, so plan ahead! A fun doggie beach!

Ossining Dog Park

Cedar Lane Park, Ossining, NY 10562

This dog park is on the top of a hill. Reviewers at Yelp.com praise the park for having separate dog runs for small and big dogs. Dog owners enjoy this park because it is a friendly place and has a community-like feeling. It is a pretty popular dog park in Northern Westchester.

Peekskill Dog Park

Main Street & Larch Lane, Peekskill, NY 10566 This dog park has separate dog runs for big and small dogs. Dog owners are pleased that it has fencing around it and shady areas for hot days. They also provide poop bags, which is a terrific convenience.

Ward Acres - Dog Park on site

Quaker Ridge Road, New Rochelle, NY 10804

This dog park is big, one of the biggest in the area at 3 acres. There are dog runs, both for small and big dogs. The Ward Acres Dog Park charges at $100 fee to use it annually, and there is no fee to simply use the dog runs. No poop bags are supplied and there are no human restrooms in the dog park, but they are located within the larger park area.

The East Rumbrook Dog Park

East Rumbrook Park, Greenburgh, NY

This dog park is one acre in size and includes a fenced in area for smaller dogs and another for all dogs to play and socialize. You can also walk your dog on a wood trail. The Friends of the East Rumbrook Dog Park are planning an annual Dog Swim. You can join the association for $20.

Kingsland Point Park - Dog Park there

299 Palmer Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591

The annual fee to use the park is $25. View the link to see an application for the dog park. Only Westchester, NY residents with permits can use the dog park. The dog park is located on part of the Kingsland Point Park, a Sleepy Hollow park known for beautiful views of the Hudson River.

Bark Dog Park

Brockway Place, White Plains, NY 10601

This White Plains dog park features a water fountain and an area especially for smaller or younger dogs. They have poop bags for pet owner's convenience.

Port Chester Dog Park *Not open yet*

If you are a dog owner in the Port Chester, NY area you'll be pleased to know that community members are working on creating a dog park just for you. It is not open yet, but a location has been decided upon. It will be planned for the upper end of Abendoth Park, next to the Pavilion and the playground.
