Things to Do in the Hudson Valley Weekend

It is Father's Day weekend, and school is almost out. There are plenty of things to do this weekend in the Hudson Valley. Let's take a look at all the events:

Events and Festivals in the Lower Hudson Valley

The Palisades Fair will start on July 19th and run until after July 4th weekend, in West Nyack, NY at Palisades Center Mall. There will be a huge carnival midway, delicious food, games, and FREE live entertainment and shows including The Fearless Flores Thrill Show (as seen on America's Got Talent), Lance Gifford’s Magic & Illusion Show, Las Vegas Hypnotist Show, a HUGE FREE Petting Zoo, and many more! 

The Clearwater Festival (officially The Great Hudson River Revival) is a music and environmental summer festival, and will be held at the Croton Point Park on Saturday and Sunday. The event attracts 15,000 people and is for fun for both adults and children, and offers more than just music.

The Yonkers Ukrainian festival will take place this weekend. You will find lots of food, cultural shows and dances, carnival games and more.

It is Tarrytown Third Friday again. Head out this Friday from 5pm-9pm with your pets and join the Pet Parade!

The annual Shakespeare Festival officially opens this week. It is held at the spectacular open-air theater tent at the Boscobel House in Garrison, with the Hudson Highlands as its backdrop. The festival runs for 12 weeks and attracts over 35,000 patrons every year.

Events and Festivals in the mid-Hudson Valley

Someone came up of an event that combines beer and bacon for Father's Day weekend. Check out the Beer, Bourbon, and Bacon Festival at the Dutchess Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck on Saturday, June 20. 

If you are looking for strawberries and chocolates instead, the Baldwin Vineyards in Pine Bush is hosting a Strawberry, Chocolate, and Wine Festival the next two weekends, Saturdays and Sundays from noon-5pm. 

The City of Newburgh is celebrating its 150th birthday this year. On Saturday, June 20, it will celebrate by holding the Newburgh Illuminated Festival. There will be live music all day long, a market with local Hudson Valley vendors, kids activities, and a historic trolley tour around the city.

It is the 2nd annual Orange County Pride Weekend. There are events throughout Orange County from Friday to Sunday, with a festival on Sunday at downtown Warwick.

You can celebrate the Celtic Festival on June 20, held at the Palaia Vineyards in Highland Mills in Orange County. You will find Irish Step dancers, A.O.H. Pipers grand entrance at 12:00pm, music all day, vendors of all kinds, kids corner, wagon rides in the vineyard, food, beer, wine, mead.

The Hudson Valley Family Festival will be held at the Dutchess Stadium on Saturday, June 20th. The town of Lagrange in Dutchess County will hold its community day on Saturday as well, ending with fireworks at night. And in Poughkeepsie, the Greek Festival is going on all weekend from June 18-21.
