The town of Goshen is located in the middle of Orange County. Being an hour and a half away from New York City, Goshen is a world apart from the city. There is a village center in Goshen, which is the seat of Orange County. Walking through the village feels like a different era, with buildings and churches dating back to the 1800s. Outside the village, you will see lush rolling hills, mostly farmlands, with some suburban subdivisions.

The pedestrian friendly downtown offers lively entertainment, eclectic restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops and trendy retail venues. You will find many historic buildings on Main Street are currently used as law offices, and beautiful Victorian style homes close to the Village.
Taking a walk in the village, you will find a monument in the center of Main Street. The "Orange Blossoms Monument" was built to remember the volunteer regiment that was formed, and fought during the Civil War.
Another important part of the town history is its trotting horse industry. Beginning in 1803, many trotting horses were bred and raised in Goshen. In the center of the village is the Harness Racing Museum and race track. It is one of America's oldest racing track for horses, and to this day you can still see harness races there in the summer.
Nature lovers can explore, fish and hike at one of Orange County’s many state parks like Harriman State Park and Schunnemunk Mountain State Park. Stewart State Forest is also just a short drive away. You will also find beautiful apple orchards and wineries nearby, and skiing at Mount Peter in the winter.
For golf lovers, some of the nearby golf clubs include: the West Hills Golf Club, Centennial Golf Club, the Golf Club at Mansion Ridge, Otterkill Golf and Country Club, and the Warwick Valley Country Club.

Beautiful buildings in Goshen
The Town of Goshen is located approximately 60 miles away from New York City. Driving to New York City takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Most of the driving in town passes through NY-17, which connects to I-84 and I-87.
Shopping at the Woodbury Commons Premium Outlets, or shopping at Middletown around the Galleria, are both around a 20 minute drive away. Stewart International Airport is less than 30 minutes drive away.
