It is time to celebrate Memorial Day! In addition to barbecues, there are lots of Hudson Valley Memorial Day weekend events:

Hudson Valley Memorial Day weekend Festivals and Fairs:
On Thursday May 21, it will be the first Hudson Valley food truck festival for the 2015 season in Saugerties. It will be at the Cantine Memorial Field from 3:30pm-9:30pm
Also at Cantine Field in Saugerties, they will host the Craft Brew Boogaloo on Saturday, May 23. It will feature 150 craft brews from over 75 local, regional, and national breweries, local food, crafts and musicians.
At Sugar Loaf, they will be holding the Sugar Loaf Spring Festival on May 23-25. Sugar Loaf a rich is a fun shopping village of independent artists and shop keepers, and the festival will bring even more arts and crafts, food and music.
Looking for more arts and crafts? There is also the Woodstock-New Paltz Arts and Crafts Fair this Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25, at the Ulster Fairgrounds. This bi-annual event has been running since 1982.
At Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, the Mysteryland festival returns this weekend. Mysteryland is the longest running electronic music, culture and arts festival in the world, active since 1993 with international editions in Chile, the Netherlands and the United States.
If you are a ukulele fan, you will not want to miss the annual Ashokan Ukelele Festival this weekend in Ashokan in the Catskills. It includes a family-friendly weekend retreat and a Uke Fest Concert on Saturday night.
Over in Dutchess County, there are several festivals and shopping opportunities as well. There will be an antique fair at Rhinebeck at the Dutchess Fairgrounds on May 23-24.
At Fishkill Farms, you can visit their Memorial Day farm Fest on Sunday, May 24 from 11am-4pm. On Memorial Day, there will be a free concert at the Beacon Waterfront, the first one in the summer 2015.
On May 23-24, it is the 7th annual Polish Festival at the German Masonic Park at Tappan, New York. Over 12,000 New York, New Jersey and Connecticut residents gathered last year at the PLUS' Polish Festival.
Hudson Valley Historical Sites on Memorial Day Weekend
With the many historical sites located in the Hudson Valley, there are several special events to honor our veterans:
The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site will host a series of events over Memorial Day Weekend from May 22-25.
It includes a USO show featuring two hours of entertainment including live Big Band music from the 1930s and 40s, comedy and juggling, historic newsreels, and much more on Friday. During the rest of the weekend, there will be WWII encampment and military displays, memorial service, and more.
There will be a Memorial Day Commemoration at the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site, including the 2nd New York Provincial Battalion demonstrations, each one ending in musket fire.
Westchester and Hudson Valley Beaches open this weekend
If you are looking to hang out by one of our local beaches in Westchester and the Hudson Valley, they are opening this weekend! Even if it is too cold to swim, you can picnic and barbecue by most of them and enjoy the view. That includes the Rye Playland Beach, Croton Point Park Beach and Glen Island Beach in Westchester.
