There is a LIRR station at the Babylon Village, which is along the Montauk branch and the last stop of the Babylon line of the Long Island Rail Road. The train ride is a little over one hour on average. Babylon is about 33 miles from Midtown Manhattan via the Southern State Parkway, or about an hour and a half in heavy traffic. Most of the traffic to other towns on Long Island are through the Southern State Parkway and Sunrise Highway.
