Suffolk County is the Easternmost county on Long Island, bordering Nassau County and otherwise surrounded by water. There are over 1.4 million residents within the county, and you will find all types of neighborhoods: suburban and rural, beach vacation towns and quaint villages.
With the extensive Long Island Railway system and highway connectivity, many commuters live in Suffolk County and commute to New York City for work. There are also plenty of jobs on the island including many research facilities.
On the Eastern end of the island, more homes there are used as summer or weekend homes. The North end is the North Fork, which is more rural, and you will find orchards, vineyards, farm stands and charming villages. The South Fork includes the exclusive Hamptons, where you may find movie stars, sand and surf, upscale Suffolk County restaurants and shops.
