Random Ridge at Mahopac Lifestyle
Mahopac is a gorgeous semi-rural area with numerous woods, lakes, and parks. The development is just North of the Westchester County border, and can enjoy lower home prices and taxes of Putnam County.
Lake Mahopac is one of the many lakes in Mahopac, and is the only lake that allows motorboats and jetskis. A popular and scenic path to jog or bike is the 12-mile Putnam County Trailways, which passes through woods and lakes, and is walkable from the development. There are nine parks in the town, with lakes, picnic areas, skate park, dog parks, lots of hiking and outdoor opportunities. Golf lovers can play at the public 18-hole Putnam Golf Club, the 27-hole Centennial Golf Club, or the private Mahopac Golf Club.
For shopping, there are local strip malls and restaurants, gyms, and a movie theater along Route 6. Route 6 is just outside of the development.
There is no Metro North station in Mahopac. However, the Goldens Bridge and Croton Falls Metro North train stations are around 10 minutes away.
Travelling in Mahopac is mostly through Route 6, and many local shops, restaurants and schools are located along Route 6. To go to other parts of New York and Connecticut, you will take I-84 and the Taconic State Parkway. New York City is around 50-60 miles from Hunters Run. White Plains and Danbury CT are around 30 minutes away.
