You will also find the Union Church of Pocantico Hills, which has stained glass windows by Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall. By the river, with an amazing river view, are the sites for Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate and the Philipsburg Manor.
The rest of the the town provides safe, suburban living. Some shopping centers and corporate parks are in Hawthorne and Thornwood. There are also many other parks and sports fields, including the Croton Dam Park in Valhalla.
The Mount Pleasant Recreation Center provides many activities to its residents, with some of the villages also offering its own programs. The town pool and rec center is located in Valhalla.
Within the town, there are six Metro North train stations: Valhalla, Mount Pleasant, Hawthorne, and Pleasantville along the Harlem Line on the East side of town; Scarborough and Philipse Manor on the Hudson Line on the West side of town. Taking the express train, travel time to Grand Central Station ranges from 40-50 minutes.
