Piermont is a village incorporated in 1847 in Rockland County. Piermont is in the town of Orangetown, a quaint village with only 0.7 square miles, located along the beautiful Hudson River.

Like the nearby village Nyack, Piermont has a wonderful location with river views and nearby Hook Mountain and Tallman Mountain views. It is the perfect location for those who enjoy fishing, kayaking, and boating, and biking is also very popualr. 

There are cute shops and dining along Piermont Ave, which attracts many artistic types, or residents who enjoy the quiet yet walkable village. All the while, you can see the New York City skyline from Piermont. Piermont is only 12 miles North of the George Washington Bridge, and 25 miles from New York City.

Piermont is located approximately 25 miles North of midtown New York City, which is a 35 minutes drive without traffic. The George Washington Bridge is 12 miles South of Piermont, and the Tappan Zee Bridge towards Westchester County is just 6 miles North. Piermont is only 5 miles North of the New Jersey border.

• Xaviar's Restaurant. It is a classy American restaurant that offers a tasting menu and an extensive wine list. The restaurant is pricy, and also highly rated with a 4-star "Excellent" Rating from the New York Times, and one of the highest rating restaurants by Zagat in the Hudson Valley. 
• The Turning Point Cafe that offers great live music.
• Tequila Sal Y Limon, a local favorite Mexican Restaurant that is right above the Turning Point Cafe.

There is plenty of parks and recreation offerings in Piermont. Even more is offered within minutes of Piermont. Below is a list of some of the nearby parks. You can also see a list from the Village of Piermont website.

• Flywheel Park - located in the center of the village along the river. Community activities like Free Movie Nights and summer concerts are being held there.
• Kane Park - the Village's Children Play Park. Located at the corner of Piermont Ave and Paradise Ave. The park has slides, swings, seesaws for children
• Frank Parelli Park - The park faces the Hudson River, and has a small boardwalk with benches.
• Elanor Stroud Park - Located next to the Sparkill Creek. Available for picnics and ice-skating in the winter.
• The Piermont Pier - (From the Village website) "The Piermont Pier stretches about a mile into the Hudson River. The pier, built in the 19th century to accommodate river traffic and used during World War II as an embarkation point for troops heading to Europe, is visible from the Tappan Zee Bridge. Piermont Pier, open year-round, provides anglers access to the deeper water off the banks of the river. Parking is available at a limited number of spots on the pier with a permit. The Villages Clerk’s Office issues one-day permits for parking on the pier to non-residents. The Pier is open to 9pm.  Your dogs need to be leashed."
• Clausland Mountain State Park - Part of the Long Trail, it offers hiking and scenic overlooks.
• Tallman Mountain State park is near Piermont. The park overlooks the Hudson and Piermont Marsh. It also offers a running track, tennis courts, playfield, cross country skiing, walking trail, hiking, and picnic areas.
