The Village of Nyack is located in the town of Clarkstown in Rockland County. The village of Nyack has an attractive downtown, with many beautiful victorians along its hilly streets. To its North is Upper Nyack, which usually has homes on larger lots. In Nyack, residents forgo large lots in order to be within walking distance to the stores.
Many of the residents of Nyack are attracted by its vibrant downtown, home to several blocks of local businesses and restaurants. The downtown also a YMCA and local library that are very active. The Nyack Library hosts the well known Carnegie Concert Series throughout the year.
The village hosts many community events. There is a popular summer farmer's market, several street fairs, and a popular Halloween parade that attracts 200,000 visitors each year. Nyack is located along the Hudson River, approximately 28 miles North of New York City. To travel to New York City, you can cross the Hudson River on the Tappan Zee Bridge, with its entrance at Nyack. Driving to New York City without traffic takes approximately 50 minutes.
For public transportation, there are buses that connects Nyack to the Tarrytown Metro North station in Westchester, or straight to Port Authority. Depending on where they are going to, some people will drive South to New Jersey to take the train or Ferry over to Manhattan.
