Valley Cottage is a hamlet located in the town of Clarkstown. It is a popular suburb due to its convenient location, located 32 miles from midtown Manhattan and is approximately one hour's drive away.
Within a short drive, residents in Valley Cottage can visit downtown Nyack and all its shopping, dining, and cultural offerings. Valley Cottage is also just a short drive away from the Palisades Mall in Nanuet, one of the largest on the East Coast. At the mall and its immediate surrounding area, you will most certainly find everything you need.
Valley Cottage is a beautiful suburb that is close to lakes and mountains, perfect for people who enjoy lake activities or hiking and biking. There is the popular Rockland Lake State Park, which has a lake for boating and fishing, a trail around the lake, a large swimming pool with spray garden, picnic areas, and a public golf course. Congers Lake Memorial Park is also nearby, and there are actually four lakes in the immediate area, several large parks, and the Hudson River.
Students living at Valley Cottage attend schools at the Nyack School District.

Valley Cottage Condos and Townhouses Developments
All of the prices below are based on 2019 prices. All developments are pet friendly unless otherwise stated.
There are two condo developments in Valley Cottage that have condos on one floor. Both developments consist of two story buildings:
- Mountainview Condos is a large community of 1000 condos built in several phases from the 1960s to 1970s. There are 1-2 bedroom condos selling in the $200,000s. Amenities including several swimming pools, tennis courts, and playgrounds.
- Lake Road Condos has 350 units total, and was built around 1970. There are 1-2 bedroom condos selling for around $160k to the low $200ks. Amenities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, and playground. Dogs are not allowed in the development.
There are several townhome developments in Valley Cottage:
- Astri Hills consists of 2-3 bedroom townhouses with garage, and were built in 1987. The location offers views of mountains and NYC skylines. The homes are selling in the upper $300,000s
- Rockridge is a small community of 3 bedroom 2.5 bath townhouses. Built in 1999, the homes are selling in the mid $300,000s
- Brookridge is a small community of 2-3 bedroom townhouses across the street from Rockridge. The homes were built in 1984.
- Hudson Cliff Estates is a new development of 7 luxury townhomes. The homes were built starting in 2018, and it is located in a beautiful mountain setting. Selling in the upper $600,000s
