The Garrison School District has one school for students from kindergarten to 8th grade. After 8th grade, the students have a choice of either attending Haldane High School in Cold Spring, or Jame I. O'Neill High School across the river in Orange County. Many children of the faculty and staff members at West Point also attend schools at O'Neill High School
The Garrison School District is very small. During the 2012-13 school year, there were 223 students. 26 of them were in 8th grade. The district also spends the most per student due to its small size. For the 2014-2015 school year, the budget per student was $31,024, highest in the County.
