Kirk Lake is a community located in Mahopac. It is is a quaint neighborhood surrounding Lake Baldwin. It is located next to Lake Mahopac. Students living at Kirk Lake area attend schools at the Mahopac school district.
Mahopac is located just one hour North of New York City, and just across the Westchester County border. Route 6 is the main local road in Mahopac. Along Route 6 you will find the Mahopac Library, restaurants and shops, and bus stop. Nearby, you will find the scenic path Putnam County Trailways for jogging and biking. There are nine parks in Mahopac and the town of Carmel, with lakes, picnic areas, skate park, dog parks, lots of hiking and outdoor opportunities. Golf lovers can play at the public 18-hole Putnam Golf Club, the 27-hole Centennial Golf Club, or the private Mahopac Golf Club.
For shopping, there are local strip malls and restaurants, gyms, and a movie theater along Route 6. Just across the county border on Route 6 in Westchester, the Jefferson Valley Mall is 10 minutes away with more stores and a movie theater.

There is no Metro North station in Mahopac. However, the Goldens Bridge and Croton Falls Metro North train stations are around 10 minutes away.
Travelling in Mahopac is mostly through Route 6, and many local shops, restaurants and schools are located along this local road. To go to other parts of New York and Connecticut, you will take I-84 and the Taconic State Parkway. New York City is around 50-60 miles from Mahopac, and White Plains is around 30 minutes South.
