The major roadways in Rockland County include Interstate 87 and I-287, which connects to other parts of New York and other states. Other roads that connect to New Jersey and other towns within Rockland County include Route 9W along the Hudson River, 202, and the Palisades Parkway.

For driving to Manhattan, you will need to cross the Hudson River via Tappan Zee Bridge or the George Washington Bridge. Due to the traffic on the bridges and other roads during rush hour, many residents who need to commute would choose to take public transportations to New York City.

For commuters, there are great public transportation options available for commuting to New York City. There are several Metro-North train stations in Rockland County that brings you to Penn Station in New York City.
