Lake Allendale is a neighborhood in Cortlandt Manor area, Westchester County. It is a scenic area and conveniently located close to the Cortlandt Town Center. Students there attend schools at the Lakeland school district.
Cortlandt Manor is around 43 miles North of Midtown Manhattan. The Metro North service from the Cortlandt station takes around 60 minutes, while Croton-Harmon station has express trains that sometimes cut the ride down to 46 minutes. The town is convenient to Route 9, Route 6, and Route 202, which connect to the Taconic State Parkway.
You can find beautiful scenery and nature offerings in Cortlandt. There are parks along the waterfront, like the George's Island Park and the Oscawana Park and Graff Sanctuary. There are plenty of parks and hiking on both sides of the Hudson. You can also easily cross over to the other side of the river with the Bear Mountain Parkway.
Shopping in Cortlandt Manor is pretty convenient. For shopping centers and big box stores, there is the Cortlandt Town Center, which is the main shopping center for Northern Westchester. It includes a Walmart, Home Depot, Marshalls, etc and a movie theater.
