Eastchester is a suburban town located just 20 miles North of New York City. It includes the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe, all of which are highly desirable areas to live due to its close proximity to NYC, with convenience and space of the suburbs.
Being so close to New York City, Eastchester is still able to provide its residents with a scenic landscape with lots of outdoor recreation opportunities. The town has several parks and sports fields. The most impressive is the Lake Isle Country Club, which was once a private club, and now town owned for all Eastchester residents. It offers residents a swimming pool, 8 tennis courts, and a 18-hole golf course.
Shopping in Eastchester is pretty convenient. The Vernon Hills Shopping Center is an upscale outdoor shopping center with stores like Ann Taylor, Lord and Taylor, Banana Republic, etc. There is also quite a selection of restaurants. However, the popularity of the shopping center sometimes causes congestion on Route 22.
Compared to its neighbors like Scarsdale, Eastchester (the unincorporated part of Eastchester) does not bring up the same exclusive image. Eastchester still have well maintained homes with meticulous lawns, but there is a larger housing selection. There are single family homes, and communities of condos, co-ops, and townhouses.
There are several Metro North train stations along the Harlem Line that are convenient for Eastchester residents: Crestwood, Tuckahoe, Bronxville, and Scarsdale station. The express trains takes approximately 30-40 minutes to New York.
Eastchester also has easy access to the rest of the county and to New York, with access via the Hutchinson River Parkway and the Bronx River Parkway.
