Rochelle Park - Rochelle Heights is a historic home community in New Rochelle in Southern Westchester County, New York. Rochelle Park-Rochelle Heights was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 6, 2005, in order to preserve the historic and architectural character of the outstanding turn-of-the-centruy neighborhood. 

Rochelle Heights at New Rochelle NY Lifestyle

The layout of Rochelle Park was established in 1885, designed by Nathan Barrett, a leading landscape architect. The neighborhood evokes a bucolic and manorial atmosphere. In 1905, the layout of Rochelle Heights was created, with most of the homes being built in Queen Anne, tudor revival, Italian Renaissance, and colonial revival styles.

Nowadays, you will find homes with Victorian detail on wide streets with expansive front lawns in the neighborhood. In the center of the community is The Boulevard, which leads to the Great Lawn, or Rochelle Park. The park holds the many community events by the neighborhood association, including plant sales and potlucks, barbecues, Halloween parties, etc. There are also community tennis courts and playground at the park.

The neighborhood is walkable, with some restaurants and stores within the community. A few minutes away, Downtown New Rochelle offers a large variety of dining options of many cuisines. For those who enjoy the water, New Rochelle offers five waterfront parks along the Long Island Sound. For golf lovers, there are several country clubs and golf courses within a 15 minute drive.

For commuting, Rochelle Heights is just a five minute drive from the New Rochelle Metro North station. The train ride to Grand Central Station is only 30 minutes.

For those who drive, New Rochelle is a 30 minute drive North of New York City. There are very easy access to I-95, Route 1, and the Hutchinson River Parkway.
