Somers NY Foreclosures Homes for Sale

The town of Somers offers a country lifestyle in Northern Westchester County, bordering Putnam County. The town is composed of several hamlets: Amawalk, Baldwin Place, Granite Springs, Lincolndale, Lake Purdys, and Shenorock. 

Somers offers many outdoor recreational opportunities. The beautiful lakes and the Amawalk Reservoir for great views and fishing. The 82-acre Reis park is great for picnicking and has fields for soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and a skate park. The most beautiful however, would be the 234-acre Lasdon park, which is also an arboretum. It is stunning with its woods, meadows, and formal gardens, and hosts summer concerts for the town.

There are several local farms in the area. The most diverse one is Muscoot Farm, which is a 19th century farm that is open year-round and offer educational programs, tours, hiking trails, hayrides, and special events. 

Somers commute

The major route from Somers to New York City is via Route 684 and the Taconic State Parkway, and takes about an hour. For more amenities outside of Somers, people may go to Yorktown to its West, White Plains by traveling South, or take a 30 minute drive to Danbury, CT via 84.  

Commuters can take the Metro North Harlem Line to Manhattan. It takes about 65 minutes from stations in Katonah or Goldens Bridge, both of which are right outside of Somers.
