The town of Somers offers a country lifestyle in Northern Westchester County, bordering Putnam County. The town is composed of several hamlets: Amawalk, Baldwin Place, Granite Springs, Lincolndale, Lake Purdys, and Shenorock.
Somers offers many outdoor recreational opportunities. The beautiful lakes and the Amawalk Reservoir for great views and fishing. The major route from Somers to New York City is via Route 684 and the Taconic State Parkway, and takes about an hour. For more amenities outside of Somers, people may go to Yorktown to its West, White Plains by traveling South, or take a 30 minute drive to Danbury, CT via 84.
Commuters can take the Metro North Harlem Line to Manhattan. It takes about 65 minutes from stations in Katonah or Goldens Bridge, both of which are right outside of Somers.
