For larger shopping centers, the Danbury Mall is 10 miles away, plus chain stores like Trader Joes, Whole Foods, and Walmart.

Carmel is about an hour and 15 minutes North of New York City, 30 minutes North of White Plains, 15 minutes from Connecticut and the City of Danbury. There are access from the town to 84 and 684. Route 6, 22, and 202 are the local road throughout Carmel and towards Westchester. 

The closest train station is the Southeast Metro North station, 10 minutes away. A ride during normal weekday hours is around 80 minutes, and the trains usually run every half hour. You can also drive one or two stops closer, to the Brewster and Croton Falls Metro North Stations, just a few minutes South.
