Golf lovers can play at the public 18-hole Putnam Golf Club, the 27-hole Centennial Golf Club, or the private Mahopac Golf Club.

For shopping, there are local strip malls and restaurants, gyms, and a movie theater along Route 6. Just across the county border in Westchester via the Taconic State Parkway, the Jefferson Valley Mall is 10 minutes away with more stores and a movie theater. 

Lake Secor Commute

There is no Metro North station in Mahopac. However, the Croton Falls and Goldens Bridge Metro North train stations are only 10 minutes away. 

Traveling in Mahopac is mostly through Route 6, and many local shops, restaurants and schools are located along this local road. To go to other parts of New York and Connecticut, you will take I-84 and the Taconic State Parkway. The Taconic State Parkway is less than 1 mile from Lake Secor. New York City is around 50-60 miles from Lake Mahopac, and White Plains is around 30 minutes South.

Lake Secor Schools

Students living at the Lake Secor go to schools at the Mahopac School District. Students will attend Austin Road Elementary School, Mahopac Middle School, and Mahopac High School.
