Yonkers is located just North of the Bronx and has lots of public transportation options. It is also a walkable town, and some of the residents get by without a car. There are Metro North stations in or close to Yonkers on both the Hudson and the Harlem Line. The stations include: Ludlow, Yonkers, Glenwood, and Greystone on the Hudson Line on the Western part of town, and Wakefield, Mount Vernon West, Fleetwood, Bronxville, Tuckahoe, and Crestwood on the Eastern part of the town. The train ride to Grand Central is 30 minutes or less during rush hour.

The Bee-Line Bus system provides bus service from Yonkers to other parts of Westchester. The MTA has some bus routes to Manhattan.

Driving from the Yonkers Metro North Station to Grand Central Terminal in NYC is 15 miles and takes around 35 minutes without traffic. The distance to White Plains is also 15 miles, and the drive is is around 25 minutes.

You will find Yonkers to be very diverse. Being a city, you will find lots of businesses and retail in Yonkers. Getty Square is where the city government is located. Along the Hudson River, you will find great plenty of homes and condos with river views.
