There are several Coop communities in Yorktown, including Mogul Park, Cedar Pond, Lexington Colony, and Old Yorktown Village. The sales price of the coops start at under $100,000 to the upper $100,000s.

There are many condo communities in Yorktown. Some of the popular ones include:

The Woods II, Scenic View, and Overlook Commons are condo communities located in Yorktown Heights, walking distance to the Yorktown Heights townhall and downtown area. All three communities were built around 1985. The Woods II development has both condos and bilevel townhomes, while Scenic View and Overlook Commons have 1 and 2 bedroom condos. The sales price are from the mid $100,000s to the $300,000s for the townhomes.

Lakeside Colony and Villas on the Lake are condo developments located next to the beautiful Lake Mohegan, and the shopping and dining on Route 6. The two communities are located next to each other and the Old Yorktown Village coops. Both communities have 1 bedroom condos and 2-3 bedroom townhouses, selling for anything between the mid $100,000s to the $300,000s.

Trump Park is a luxury mid-rise condo community in Shrub Oak. The private yet convenient community was built around 2007, with some newer units built in 2014.  As of 2016, the homes are selling from the mid $200,000s to the low $500,000s.

Ponderosa Estates was built in 1996 and consists of 3 bedroom townhouses. As of 2016, the homes are selling in the upper $300,000s.

Maple Brook is a community of 67 townhomes. The lovely and convenient community was built around 1989-1997. The homes are selling from the $200,000s to the low $400,000s.

The High Meadow community was built around 1985, and is conveniently located next to the Jefferson Valley mall and the Jefferson Village development. There are one level condos and bilevel townhouses in the community. As of 2016, the homes are selling from the mid $200,000s up to $400,000s.

Jefferson Village is a large community for 55+ active adults. There are over 1000 units in the development, with homes built from around 1967 to 1986. As of 2016, there are studio apartments available for sale for under $100,000, to larger townhouses that sell in the $400,000s.

Surrey Court is a townhouse community in Jefferson Valley. It was built around 2003

The Courtyard is a townhouse community in Shrub Oak. It was built around 1989. 

Stonegate is a small townhouse development in Shrub Oak that does not have HOA fees. The sales price of homes in 2019 ranged between $337,000-$361,000

The town of Yorktown is very large at 40 sq miles, which is bigger than Manhattan. It offers a diverse set of neighborhoods, with suburban residential areas, lots of parks and open spaces, and rural farmland. It is made up of five business hamlets: Mohegan Lake, Shrub Oak, Jefferson Valley, Crompond, and Yorktown Heights. Yorktown Heights, at the Southeast corner of town, is the largest hamlet: 2/3 of the population in Yorktown live in Yorktown Heights.

Located in Northern Westchester, Yorktown residents have easy access to all the outdoor activities Northern Westchester has to offer, while having convenient access to shopping and dining, and commute to NYC. For those who enjoy biking or jogging, you can simply walk or bike over onto the popular North County Trailways. The large FDR State Park nearby includes a lake, pond, fishing, picnic areas and sports fields, a golf course, and a very large swimming pool. Hiking is available at the nearby Turkey Mountain, and you can enjoy some beautiful scenery at the Lasdon Park and Arboretum. 

You are never too far away from grocery stores and shopping in Yorktown. The Jefferson Valley Mall in Yorktown, although is quite small, has a Macy's, Sears, and 90 other stores. The nearby Cortlandt Town Center with several big box stores and a movie theater, is also a popular place for shopping.

IBM is a major employer in town with its Watson Research Center located there. There are smaller industrial businesses in industrial parks located in different parts of Yorktown.

Yorktown NY Commute

Yorktown is about an hour north of New York City and 30 minutes north of White Plains. The major roads in Yorktown include Route 202, Route 6 and the Taconic State Parkway. 

For those who prefer public transportation, there are Metro North stations on both the Harlem and Hudson Line close by. The train stations at Goldens Bridge, Mount Kisco, and Croton-Harmon are all around 10 miles away.

Students living in the Northern part of Yorktown go to schools at the Lakeland School District. Students in the Southern part of Yorktown attend schools at the Yorktown Central School District.
